Turning Values into Visuals — VISUAL-EU, 17 December 2025 🎬🇪🇺
Today our Winter School felt like a creative lab: teams turned EU values into storyboards, mock-ups, and micro-campaigns—then stress-tested them in a “gallery walk” debate. 🔧🖼️💬
Project frame: “Visualizing the EU: Enhancing Public Awareness of European Policies, Values, and Initiatives at Polish HEIs” (Grant Agreement 101235890 — VISUAL-EU — ERASMUS-JMO-2025-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
Focus block: V3. EU Values in Action: Case Studies from Member States
We worked through three lenses:
1. Value → Narrative: dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law, human rights—how to make them seen, not just stated. ✍️📣
2. Campus as a civic stage: where values are promoted—or contested—through HEI–region partnerships (incl. CEE cases). 🎓🤝
3. Comparative visual read: websites, identity systems, and project visuals—what converges, what clashes, what persuades. 🔍📊
Student spotlights 🎯
• Sofiia Yeremenko — Designing Value-Oriented Initiatives in HEIs: practical blueprints for courses, events, and partnerships that make EU values visible on campus. 📚🤝
• Akylai Akylbekova — Europeanisation vs. De-Europeanisation Narratives in Higher Education: how competing storylines shape policy, curricula, and student experience. 🧭📰
• Zhanna Sulima — Stakeholder Mapping: who actually promotes—and who contests—EU values in HEIs; influence grids and engagement routes. 🗺️👥
• Azizbek Ametov — Universities as Spaces of European Values: connecting policy to practice via governance tools, codes of conduct, and micro-projects. 🏛️✅
Highlights: razor-sharp RQs, ethical guardrails, and prototypes that balance aesthetics with evidence. Next up: storyboard polishing and user-testing sprints. 🚀
