Making the European Union visible, understandable and actionable.
VISUAL-EU is a 36-month teaching and research initiative led by VIZJA University in Warsaw. It connects European Studies, visual communication, digital learning and public engagement to make EU values, policies and initiatives easier to understand, discuss and apply.

The challenge
EU knowledge should not remain abstract.
EU governance, policies and values are often communicated through dense institutional language. This can make them difficult to connect with everyday experience, academic study and civic participation.
VISUAL-EU responds by combining academic rigour with visual and interactive methods that help learners interpret complex processes, communicate them clearly and apply them in meaningful contexts.

The project integrates digital resources, interdisciplinary education, research and public engagement rather than treating them as separate activities.

VISUAL-EU Hub
An evolving digital space for infographics, visual maps, case studies, discussion, templates and practical learning resources.

Interdisciplinary learning
Four modules delivered through Winter and Summer Schools combine EU governance, storytelling, values and citizenship.

Evidence and analysis
Research on visual-oriented pedagogy leads to eight articles, four policy briefs and a consolidated impact report.
04 · Engagement
Dialogue and public reach
Conferences, roundtables, digital communication and policy guidelines extend the project beyond the classroom.
