Jean Monnet Module “Visualizing the EU: Enhancing Public Awareness  of European Policies, Values, and Initiatives at Polish HEIs

Activities

VISUAL-EU brings together digital innovation, teaching, research, and public engagement to make European Union values, policies, and initiatives more visible, accessible, and meaningful for higher education communities and wider society.

Interactive Digital Hub
At the centre of the project is the VISUAL-EU Hub — an interactive online space designed to present EU-related content in clear and engaging formats. The Hub brings together infographics, case studies, discussion opportunities, and learning materials that help users explore EU values, policies, and success stories through a visual and user-friendly approach.

Winter and Summer Schools
A core strand of VISUAL-EU is the organisation of interdisciplinary winter and summer schools. These learning activities are built around four modules: EU Governance & Decision-Making ProcessesDigital Storytelling & EU Policy CommunicationEU Values in Action: Case Studies from Member States, and European Citizenship & Community Engagement. Through lectures, practical workshops, and collaborative assignments, participants develop a stronger understanding of how the European Union works and how its policies can be communicated effectively.

Research and Policy Outputs
The project also includes research on visual-oriented pedagogical methods in European Studies. This work is translated into research articles and policy briefs that support educators, researchers, and decision-makers interested in innovative ways to teach and communicate EU-related topics.

Public Events and Dissemination
VISUAL-EU reaches broader audiences through its website, social media channels, roundtable discussions, public events, and an international conference. These activities are designed to encourage dialogue, share project results, and strengthen public engagement with EU values, policies, and initiatives.

Guidelines for Long-Term Impact
As part of its long-term contribution, the project prepares a guidance document on strengthening the European Union’s visibility at Polish higher education institutions. This output is intended to support public institutions and stakeholders seeking practical ways to promote EU-related knowledge through education, communication, and community engagement.
